Christmas Gifts for Kids
Gifts that aren't junk and aren't expensive and won't drive adults crazy.
Dear Friends,
Is this you sometimes when trying to buy Christmas gifts for the kids in your life?
Are you disheartened by buying junk, wishing you could do something a little more meaningful without breaking the bank or annoying parents (including yourself)?
Yeah. I get it. So I have a bit of a different gift guide for you to consider this year, which you may find helpful. In particular, I suggest a number of “experience gifts” that children deeply appreciate and remember but—guess what—don’t cost a month’s wages!
Imagine that!
Please enjoy perusing the gift guide here:
“What to Get the Kids You Know for Christmas This Year.”
What do you think?
Happy St. Nick’s Day!
Alright, well I’ve been staring at the remote control cars that have been out of batteries for months on end, wondering, “is it time to part with these?” Heck no! Now where’s our battery stash, again...
I find myself reminding people that "experience" gifts really do count! Just this morning my mom was saying she needed "something to put under the tree" because she had bought our zoo membership as she always does and I told her that what she had already bought was great! We'll see if she listens ;-) I also remind people that we love hand-me-downs and secondhand toys, not everything has to be new from a box. If you buy my daughter an old prom dress and some paste jewelry from Goodwill for her dress-up box, she will love that just as much as (if not more than) a princess dress from Amazon.
I think our kids are going to get tickets to see Migration with us this year; they've never been in a movie theatre and it looks like a cute movie, plus they get enough toys from relatives that we are happy to be able to give an experience gift.
