Dear friends,
First, an announcement:
We still have just a few spaces open on our upcoming “Pilgrimage ou of the Machine” adventure on the Camino de Santiago!
If you are “Camino curious” or are already registered, join me and
and via Zoom this Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m. Eastern to discuss your questions and the specifics of preparing for the trip!As Ruth said in her post today, “there are always reasons to put off a trip of a lifetime - responsibilities, finances, stress - but sometimes a door does open, and it’s the right time to step through.”
Perhaps you’d like to talk through the possibility with us?

Second, I want to ask you: How may I pray for you on this pilgrimage?
Please share your prayer intentions, large and small.
Sidebar: If you are not Catholic, please do not be put off by the fact that this pilgrimage is connected with a saint. As you may know, Catholics do not worship saints, but only admire and emulate them and ask them to help us come closer to Jesus. When we pray to saints, we are actually only asking them to pray for us, much as I might ask you to pray for me, or you might ask me to pray for you. Anything that a saint might do beyond intercession — a miracle, for example — is performed through God’s power in response to His love for us and the saint. Just as God may give me the grace to help someone, He may give a saint the grace to help one of His beloved children in His mercy and for His glory alone. (I recommend Scott Hahn’s books if you want to read about this further!)
But in any case, you don’t have to share this belief in order to share an intention — I look forward to praying for you!
I have several small intentions for this pilgrimage, but also two large ones. My two central intentions are:
For my children to keep their faith
For healing for my beloved friend Meghan
Leave your prayer intention in the comments or, if you would like to keep it private, message me, and I will carry your prayer all the way to the great Cathedral of St. James (brother of John). (Note: it is best not to hit reply to this e-mail, as usually such replies somehow never reach me.)
Or…join the video call on Saturday, ask your questions, and then consider coming along with us!
And please share this so that others may leave their intentions here, as well!
Warmly yours,
Dixie
For my brother and sister-in-law to carry their current baby to term — a pregnancy-induced blood clotting condition has taken multiple little ones from them already. It sounds like it may take a miracle.
For the Gardner and Shircliff families, and for complete healing for Ariyon (age 9) and for his family.
