That is by far my favourite poem I have read in a long time - that little girl can sure write!

"An elephant stomps:

End of shrew."

-what a line! (with its blunt, dark, dry humour and all - love it!)

That was definitely my favorite line, too!

And thanks, I will pass the compliment along -- she'll be so pleased!

How fun! And how awesome that she is honing her literary skills at such a young age. Did you listen to the latest Read Aloud Revival podcast where she had on a homeschooled author?

That's really cool! No, I didn't hear that one, but how neat.

“Ever seen a shrew on TV?” Tickled my funny bone. Nicely done, young poetess.

This has to be delightful for you to watch what she comes up with! I'm looking forward to watching my 9 year old's writing develop. His assignment this last week was to re-write the ending of the "Prodigal Son" parable from the elder brother's (first person) point of view. Imagine my surprise and delight when he (without prompting) decided to set the scene in the country west. The prodigal is named Bill, and they have a neighbor named Hank. Who knew? 😆
