Welcome to the Hollow!

Do you seek a more integrated life, one strong in connections to people, place, and past? Do you seek the richness of family, community, and adventurous learning and freedom from overpowering uses of technology

Join me here at The Hollow to discuss themes of education, family, tech, and parenting in modern life and throughout history. Make a cup of coffee, grab your treat of choice, and let’s talk together about making the world a better place one life at a time.

I am a historian (Notre Dame Ph.D.), teacher, and homeschooling mother of four, as well as an associate editor at Hearth & Field, a contributing editor at Front Porch Republic, and a regular contributor to the Arena blog. I also have bylines at , Institute for Family Studies, Current, Radiant, Public Discourse, Let Grow, Verily, and Wallflower.
